Our Produce

Have you ever tasted an heirloom tomato right off the vine? It's delicious! This year we will produce over three acres of vegetables for our Roanoke Valley community.

To meet your unique vegetable needs, we've designed a convenient "debit-style" farm share program. By subscribing to our farm share you'll get first pick of all our produce, special crops grown just for farm share members, and access to unique family farm opportunities.

If you're not ready to sign up, don't worry! You can buy "a-la-carte" directly from one of our three weekly farm stands.

Either way, our goal is for you to get as much pleasure from eating our veggies as we get from growing them. Take a look around our website, shop, consider, let us know what you think, and, most importantly, what you'd like to eat!

Our growing practices

Our farming philosophy is that good quality produce starts with healthy soil. We strive to farm in a manner that maintains and improves soil health for the future.

We focus on crop rotation and cover cropping to build organic matter and increase the biological activity of the soil. Our approach to pest management comes from knowing that healthy plants that are able to get the proper nutrients they need from the soil will be better equipped to resist pests in the first place. We do not use synthetic pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Though we may occasionally use an organic pesticide, we only to do so as a last resort.

Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions about these distinctions.

Certified Naturally Grown

All of our land and vegetables are Certified Naturally Grown.

Certified Naturally Grown farmers don't use synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicide, or GMOs.

Our growing practices integrate cultural, biological, and mechanical methods that foster cycling of resources, promote ecological balance, and conserve biodiversity.

Our farm share

What is a farm share?

A Farm Share Program, also known as Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), is a relationship between our farm and you, our customer. In addition to purchasing food at our farm stand, you have the option of becoming a “member” of the farm, which entitles you to receive a portion of our harvest and participate in our family farm experience. The process is simple:

  • Spend $300 and enjoy fresh produce all season long.

  • Select your vegetables online.

  • Pick up your customized order weekly from one of our three farm stands.

  • Enjoy crops grown exclusively for farm share members, like sweet corn and watermelon.

  • Participate in on-farm dinners, field days, and other hands-on farming experiences.

Our summer season runs for more than 30 weeks, from the beginning of April until the end of November. Our winter season, which is exclusive to farm share members, runs weekly from December through March.

Member Fees

Your up front commitment ($300 membership) provides the necessary funds to purchase seeds and equipment before the season starts—this is what keeps our farm running! Your membership includes an annual fee ($75) to support the software and logistical needs of the unique, customizable style of our market-based farm share program.

All membership payments are non-refundable beyond the fourth week of the season. Members can carry an on-going balance from year to year.

Join us!

Our commitment to you is to provide the freshest, healthiest produce possible delivered to your chosen pickup location on the date requested.

Food Safety

As a member of the community, we take the safety of our food seriously. All produce is washed and packed properly, and refrigerated between packing and delivery. (For your protection, however, we always recommend that you wash all produce -- even ours! -- before eating).
